In a year of global upheaval and conflict, please help support families seeking sanctuary in Newcastle.

In a year of war and conflict in Ukraine, Afghanistan and sadly many more countries across the globe, our local asylum-seeking and refugee community need us more than ever.

Donating to student-led initiative N.E.S.T will provide support packages to children and young families from asylum-seeking families in need this winter. Your support can gift warm winter outdoor clothing, participation in camps/clubs or family support sessions to provide security and sanctuary.

About N.E.S.T

North East Solidarity and Teaching (N.E.S.T) is a student-led volunteer project designed to educate, empower and integrate the forced migration community in the North East of England. We support roughly 700 refugees and asylum seekers each year with the help of our student volunteers. We deliver over 25 sessions each week where we teach English, play sports, promote arts and creativity, go on trips in the region and much more.

Secure this lifeline for future families

Please donate today to ensure N.E.S.T can continue to support refugee and asylum-seeking families in the North East next year and beyond. With your help, we can continue:

  • Supporting people to build new lives in our region.

  • Providing basic support packages so people don't go without.

  • Teaching English skills that are so vital to adapting to life in the UK.

  • Visiting schools in Newcastle to support children from the asylum-seeking and refugee community with their education.

  • And spreading a bit of Christmas cheer to young children recently arrived to the North East.
